What PPSC does and which jobs it advertises
PPSC recruits officers for Punjab government departments on the request of each department. It publishes numbered advertisements several times a year in newspapers and on its website. Each advertisement lists the posts, scale, number of seats, quota (open merit, women, minorities and special persons), qualification, age limit and closing date.
As announced on 9 October 2026, PPSC Advertisement No. 11/2026 offered 299 posts, including Senior Registrars for specialised healthcare, Veterinary Officers, Tehsil Sports Officers and Intelligence Officers (BS-14) for Punjab Police Special Branch, with a reported closing date of 26 October 2026. The previous advertisement, No. 10/2026 of 17 September 2026, included about 1,958 Charge Nurse (BS-16) posts. Check the official advert for exact details before applying.
PPSC jobs eligibility: age, education and domicile
- Domicile: a Punjab domicile is normally required for PPSC posts.
- Age: each post has its own minimum and maximum age. Recent adverts listed limits such as 21 to 28 or 21 to 30 years, plus 5 years of general relaxation and extra years for women. Age is counted on the date stated in the advertisement.
- Education: the exact degree for each post is in the advert, for example DVM for Veterinary Officers or a nursing qualification for Charge Nurses.
- Professional registration: posts such as engineers, doctors, vets and nurses need valid registration with PEC, PMDC, PVMC or the Pakistan Nursing Council as stated.
- Government employees: should follow their department’s procedure and keep an NOC ready.
- Foreign or equivalent degrees: may need an equivalence certificate from the relevant authority.

Fee rules to remember

- Persons with disabilities and PPSC employees are exempt from the fee.
- Old manual challan forms, bank drafts, pay orders and cheques are not accepted.
PPSC test and interview process
- Scrutiny: applications are checked against the eligibility criteria published on the website.
- Written test: for many posts this is a one-paper MCQ test. Recent adverts described it as 100 marks in 90 minutes, with questions mainly from the required qualification. The syllabus is posted under the Information Desk on ppsc.gop.pk.
- Competitive examinations: exams such as PMS have several written papers instead of a single MCQ test.
- Interview: shortlisted candidates bring original documents, which are checked before the interview.
- Final recommendation: PPSC publishes merit lists and sends recommendations to the department, which issues the appointment letter.
Test and interview dates, written results and final recommendations are posted under the Schedule and Results sections of the website. Keep your email and mobile number active, because PPSC also uses them to contact you.
