Who studies under the Federal Board

FBISE was set up under the FBISE Act 1975 and works under the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training. Its affiliated institutions are in Islamabad Capital Territory, in cantonments and garrisons across Pakistan, in Gilgit-Baltistan and in Pakistani schools abroad, for example in Qatar.

So a student in a cantonment school in Lahore or Multan may be a Federal Board student, not a Punjab board student. Your roll number slip names the board. If it is a Punjab board, see our Punjab boards section or the BISE Lahore result guide.

How to check your FBISE result by roll number or name

The roll number is the exam number printed on your roll number slip.

  1. Open fbise.edu.pk and tap Results, or go straight to the result page.
  2. From the list, choose your exam, such as SSC-I, SSC-II, HSSC-I or HSSC-II, and check that it is the right year and annual or second annual session.
  3. Type your roll number in the Roll No box. If you do not have it, use the Student Name box instead.
  4. Run the search and open your record.
  5. Check the name, institution and marks in each subject, then save or print the page.

A name search can return several students. Match the institution and father’s name before you trust the result.

Federal board result by SMS

  1. Open a new message.
  2. Type FB, a space, then your roll number, for example FB 123456.
  3. Send it to 5050.

Your mobile network charges for the SMS. The website check is free.

Gazette and institution results

For the 2026 results the board also put a result gazette, a PDF list of all candidates, on its website. Open it and search for your roll number or name.

Schools and colleges do not use the public page. They sign in to the board’s Institution Portal, which carries results and roll number slips for their own students. If you are a regular student, your institution can give you your result from there.

Grading used by FBISE

FBISE has moved to a new ten-grade scale. It applied to SSC Part I and HSSC Part I from the first annual exams of 2026 and will apply to SSC Part II and HSSC Part II from the first annual exams of 2027.

PercentageGrade
96 to 100%A++
91 to 95%A+
86 to 90%A
81 to 85%B++
76 to 80%B+
71 to 75%B
61 to 70%C+
51 to 60%C
40 to 50%D
Below 40%U (ungraded)

Under the new scale the pass mark is 40%, up from 33%. A student below 40% is ungraded and has to reappear. Part II students of 2026 (10th and 12th class) were still under the older rules with the 33% pass mark.

Calculate your percentage

Enter your obtained and total marks in the calculator to see your percentage and grade.

The grade shown is a guide. Boards are moving from the older scale to the new 10-grade scale step by step, so the grade printed on your result card is the one that counts.

Our matric result 2026 page compares the older and newer scales side by side.

FBISE online services

The board’s online services page lets you apply without visiting Islamabad. It lists:

  • Migration certificate (NOC)
  • Verification of a result card
  • Verification of certificates
  • Duplicate marks sheet or result card
  • Recounting application
  • Change of subjects or group
  • Result cancellation application

The main website also has these pages:

  • Roll number slips: ex and private candidates download them from the board’s slips page, searching by full name and father’s name or by registration number. Regular students get slips through their institution.
  • Date sheets: a Date Sheets page for all exams, including the second annual ones.
  • Syllabus and model question papers: listed under Academics, with a separate page for the SLO-based exam pattern.
  • Complaint Cell: a page for lodging complaints with the board.

The official site also links the FBISE mobile app on Google Play and the App Store.

Recounting (rechecking)

FBISE calls rechecking a recounting application. It checks that all answers were marked and the marks were added correctly. It is not a fresh marking of your paper.

Apply through the online services page soon after your result. We could not confirm the current fee or last date, so read the board’s notice for your exam before you pay.

Problems and fixes

  • Your exam is not in the list: the result may not be uploaded yet. Check the news items on the homepage.
  • Website slow on result day: use the SMS code or try again later.
  • No reply to SMS: check the format. It must be FB, one space, then the roll number.
  • Wrong name or subject on the result: regular students should go through their institution; private candidates can call the board or use the complaint cell.
  • Calls or messages asking for money to change marks: these are fraud. Do not share any OTP, PIN or password. Checking your result on the board’s site is free.
