Driving License Online in Pakistan: Apply, Renew and Verify
You can now handle most steps of a driving license online in Pakistan: apply for a learner permit, pay fees through a PSID or bill ID, renew a licence, download an e-licence and verify any licence by CNIC. Only the driving test still needs a visit to a licensing centre. Each province runs its own system, so the portal you use depends on where you live.
In Punjab, all DLIMS services have moved to the Dastak one-window platform. Islamabad uses the ITP DLIMS portal, Sindh uses DLS Online, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa offers a digital licence through the Rabta app. This guide covers each one with verified fees where the official site publishes them.

How the driving licence process works
- Learner permit: apply online, pay the fee and print the permit. It lets you practise driving legally.
- Waiting period: in Punjab, learner permit holders have had to wait 42 days before the test. Confirm the current rule at your licensing centre.
- Test: visit the licensing centre with your learner permit and CNIC for the sign test and the driving test.
- Regular licence: after passing, pay the licence fee and the card is printed and sent by courier.
- Renewal: renew online before expiry to avoid a late fine.
Punjab driving license online: learner permit on DLIMS and Dastak
The DLIMS website now shows that all its services have moved to Dastak, the Punjab government one-window platform. You can link an old DLIMS account to Dastak so that earlier applications carry over.
- Open dastak.punjab.gov.pk or the Dastak app, create an account and log in.
- Choose DLIMS services and select the learner licence.
- Fill in the form and upload a face picture and clear photos of the front and back of your original CNIC. Applicants above 50 also need a medical certificate signed by a government doctor.
- Submit the form to generate a PSID and pay Rs500 for each category, for example motorcycle or car.
- Once payment is confirmed, print the learner permit. DLIMS says it is available instantly after the form and payment are complete.
The same portal has links to track an application, verify a licence and download an e-licence.

| Category | Renewal fee (1 year) | Late fine (1 to 3 months) | Late fine (3 months to 1 year) | Late fine (1 year) |

Islamabad: ITP DLIMS
Islamabad Traffic Police runs its own portal at dlims.islamabadpolice.gov.pk. It offers four main services:
- Apply for Learner / License Renewal
- Verify License
- Verify Learner
- e-License
For questions, ITP lists 051-9001541 on the portal. Fees for Islamabad are shown during the application, so check them there before paying.
Sindh: DLS Online
Sindh Police runs DLS Online at dlsonline.sindhpolice.gov.pk. After registering and logging in, you can apply for a learner licence, renew a licence, apply for an International Driving Permit and verify a licence. A bill ID is generated for payment, and the learner licence can be printed once payment is confirmed.
Permanent licences in Sindh are issued for three or five years. The DLS Online fee calculator lists fixed charges such as lamination Rs250, NADRA Rs65 and medical Rs100, but it says its figures are estimates. The official fee table is on dls.gos.pk under Fee Structure.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Rabta app and e-licence
KP launched an electronic driving licence with a QR code for instant verification in July 2026. In September 2026, Peshawar traffic police said citizens can enter their CNIC in the Rabta app to get a digital copy of their licence within minutes, and that traffic officers should accept a valid digital licence on a phone. The same app can be used to verify a licence by CNIC.
How to verify a driving licence online
| Province | Where to verify |
|---|---|
| Punjab | Verify License on dlims.punjab.gov.pk or through Dastak |
| Islamabad | Verify License or Verify Learner on dlims.islamabadpolice.gov.pk |
| Sindh | Verify Your Driving License on DLS Online or dls.gos.pk |
| Khyber Pakhtunkhwa | Licence verification in the Rabta app |
Employers often verify a driver’s licence before hiring. You only need the licence holder’s CNIC number, and the result shows whether the licence is genuine and still valid.
Common problems and fixes
- Old DLIMS login not working: Punjab services have moved to Dastak. Create a Dastak account and link your DLIMS account.
- Payment done but status unchanged: PSID payments can take some time to confirm. Keep the receipt and check again later before paying twice.
- Documents rejected: upload clear, uncropped photos of the original CNIC and a face picture with a plain background.
- Licence not found during verification: very old manual licences may not be in the online record. Visit the issuing district’s licensing office.
PK Portals is an independent information site and is not linked to any traffic police, Dastak or provincial government.
