What is the Minority Card?
The Minority Card is a regular cash support programme for poor minority families. Instead of a one-off grant, eligible families receive Rs10,500 every three months. Payments are made only to the cardholder on presentation of the Minority Card.
Who is eligible?
- A resident of Punjab who belongs to a non-Muslim minority community (for example Christian, Hindu or Sikh).
- The applicant should be the head of the family.
- A valid CNIC and a mobile number.
- A PMT (poverty) score of 45 or below.
- Not receiving support from other programmes such as BISP or the Punjab Social Protection Authority (PSPA).
- Correct details entered on the portal; wrong information can lead to rejection.
Families are verified using data from NADRA, BISP and PSPA.
How to get a PMT score
If your family has never been surveyed, visit your nearest BISP / NSER registration centre to complete the survey. Your PMT score is calculated from that survey, and only families scoring 45 or below qualify.
How to register for the Minority Card
- Visit mcard.punjab.gov.pk.
- Register with your CNIC and set a password.
- Fill in the application form carefully with family and address details.
- Submit the form and keep your login details safe.
- Track your application status on the same portal.
If you cannot register online, call the 1040 helpline during office hours.
Minority Card status check
Log in to mcard.punjab.gov.pk with your CNIC and password to see your application status, or call 1040 with your CNIC number. In August 2025, officials said more than 93,000 families had registered and 89,000 had been verified, so not every registered family gets a card; selection is limited by the 75,000 quota and the PMT score.
Payment schedule
Payments are made every quarter (every three months) at Rs10,500 per instalment. Fixed dates for each quarter are not published in advance, so wait for the official message or announcement before going to collect your payment.
Beware of fake calls
- Registration on the portal is free.
