Where MEPCO supplies electricity

MEPCO says it serves 13 districts of South Punjab. They are Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Vehari, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Muzaffargarh, Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur.

The company runs nine circles: Multan, Khanewal, Vehari, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Muzaffargarh and Dera Ghazi Khan. Lahore-side districts such as Okara and Kasur belong to LESCO, so use our LESCO bill guide for those.

MEPCO bill check online by reference number

  1. Go to bill.pitc.com.pk/mepcobill, or tap “Online Bill Check” on mepco.com.pk, which opens the same page.
  2. Keep the search set to reference number. If you only have the Customer ID, switch to that option.
  3. Type the 14 digits with no spaces and without the letter printed at the end.
  4. Press the search button and wait for the bill to load.
  5. Confirm the consumer name and address are yours, then note the due date and the amount payable.

Your reference number is printed near the top of the bill beside “Reference No”, in a pattern like 12 34567 8901234 U. It does not change, so save it in your phone once.

How to get a MEPCO duplicate bill

A duplicate bill is simply a fresh copy of the current bill. There are two official ways to get one.

  • Website: open the bill as shown above, then print it or use “Save as PDF” in your browser.
  • In person: MEPCO’s FAQ says duplicate bills are available at its customer service centres.

If your paper bill is late most months, MEPCO asks you to tell your sub-division office.

MEPCO online bill and services in the MEPCO SMART app

MEPCO SMART is published by PITC, the Power Information Technology Company, and is linked from MEPCO’s website. The store listing was updated in August 2026.

According to MEPCO, the app includes:

  • Bill Estimator and Pay Bill
  • Complaints, Track Complaints and NEPRA Complaints
  • Request for instalment and Due Date Extension
  • New Connection and Track New Connection
  • Meter Change Request and Update Tenant CNIC

The separate Power Smart app from the Power Division lets you submit a photo of your own meter reading.

MEPCO helpline and complaint options

  • 118: the power contact centre for faults and billing complaints.
  • SMS 8118: the complaint SMS number shown on the same complaint system.
  • Complaint Cell: MEPCO’s website sends online complaints to ccms.pitc.com.pk.
  • MEPCO phone numbers: its FAQ page lists 0800-63726 and 061-9220313, 061-9220314 and 061-9220317 at headquarters. The website footer lists 0319-9757789 and the email [email protected].
  • Offices: your sub-division office, or a customer service centre in your area or at MEPCO headquarters in Multan.

MEPCO’s website does not list a WhatsApp helpline or an SMS code that sends your bill, so ignore numbers that claim to be one. Never give anyone your bank PIN, wallet MPIN or OTP for a bill query.

How to pay a MEPCO bill online

  • MEPCO SMART: the app has a Pay Bill option.
  • Bank app or internet banking: in the bill payment menu choose electricity, then MEPCO, and give the 14-digit reference number.
  • Easypaisa or JazzCash: open Bill Payments, pick electricity and the company, enter the reference number and approve with your PIN. Easypaisa says bill payment is free for customers. JazzCash says its standard charges apply.

Look at the name and amount on the confirmation screen before you approve, and keep a screenshot of the receipt. See our Easypaisa vs JazzCash page if you have not chosen a wallet yet.

How to read your MEPCO bill

  • Readings and units: the bill shows the previous and present meter readings. The difference is your units for the month.
  • Protected status: six months in a row at 200 units or less keeps you on the cheaper protected rates. A single month above 200 puts you on unprotected rates.
  • Slabs: each band of units has its own price, and higher bands cost more per unit.
  • Fixed charges: since February 2026 these are based on the sanctioned load (kW) printed on your bill.
  • Adjustments: the monthly fuel price adjustment (FPA) and the quarterly adjustment are set by NEPRA and may be added or deducted.
  • Taxes: GST, electricity duty and a surcharge appear as separate lines.

MEPCO’s tariff page points to NEPRA’s MEPCO tariff page for the notified rates. We keep the current slab table in our online bill check guide.

MEPCO bill calculator

Enter your meter readings or daily appliance use below to estimate units and cost.

Electricity bill estimator

Units not known yet? Add each appliance you run:

Estimate only. It uses the base residential tariff notified in February 2026 (S.R.O. 279(I)/2026) and 18% sales tax. Fuel price adjustment, quarterly adjustment, surcharges, electricity duty and income tax change from month to month and are not included, so your real bill will be different. Always go by the bill issued by your company.

The figure is a guide, not your bill. Adjustments and taxes move every month, and the Bill Estimator inside MEPCO SMART is the company’s own tool.

Wrong bill? MEPCO bill correction and other fixes

  • Reading on the bill differs from the meter: MEPCO’s FAQ says to get it corrected at a customer service centre, because the error carries into the next bill.
  • Meter was not read: contact your sub-division.
  • Arrears added although you paid: show the paid receipt at the sub-division, a customer service centre or the bank branch.
  • Faulty meter and estimated bills: if the meter is not replaced within two to three months, MEPCO says to go back to the sub-division.
  • Cannot pay arrears at once: MEPCO allows instalments on arrears in genuine cases, not on the current bill. Apply through the app or the sub-division.
  • The page says no record: recheck the digits, and make sure the bill is a MEPCO bill.
  • Still unresolved: use the NEPRA complaint form after you have tried the SDO or XEN.
