Areas HESCO serves
HESCO says it runs 13 districts of Sindh through four operation circles (Hyderabad, Laar, Nawabshah and Mirpurkhas), 17 divisions and 72 sub-divisions. In practice this means Hyderabad and nearby Jamshoro, Matiari, Tando Allahyar and Tando Muhammad Khan, the coastal belt of Badin, Thatta and Sujawal, Shaheed Benazirabad and Sanghar, and Mirpurkhas, Umerkot and Tharparkar in the east.
Upper Sindh, including Sukkur, Larkana, Khairpur and Dadu, moved to SEPCO in 2010, and SEPCO also covers some parts of Jamshoro and Shaheed Benazirabad districts. If your bill carries the SEPCO name, use our SEPCO online bill guide. Karachi is supplied by K-Electric, which has its own KE duplicate bill system.
HESCO bill check online: step by step
- Open bill.pitc.com.pk/hescobill. This is the page linked from the Duplicate Bill button on hesco.gov.pk. PITC, the Power Information Technology Company, runs billing for the government power companies.
- Choose Reference No or Customer ID.
- Type the number in digits only, without spaces. If you search by reference number, pick U or R in the small box so it matches the letter at the end of the number on your bill.
- Press Search. The bill opens with your name, address, units used, bill month, due date and amount payable.
- Check the bill month. If it still shows last month, the new bill has not been uploaded yet, so try again after a few days.
You can open the same page from the PITC web bill portal, which lists all government distribution companies. Our online bill check page links to every one of them if you are not sure which company supplies your home.
Where to find the reference number and Customer ID
The reference number is printed near the top of every HESCO bill, next to the words Reference No. It has 14 digits, often shown in groups, followed by a letter such as U. Enter the 14 digits together and set the U or R option on the bill page to match the letter.
The Customer ID is a separate number printed in the same section. Either number opens your bill, and neither changes from month to month. If you have no old bill at all, look at a past bank or mobile wallet payment receipt, or ask your sub-division office.
How to download a HESCO duplicate bill
- Open your bill using the steps above.
- Use the print button on the bill page or the Print option in your browser menu.
- Select Save as PDF to keep the bill on your phone or computer, or send it to a printer.
- Check that the bill month, reference number and amount are clear before you take it to a bank.
The printed copy carries the same details and barcode as the paper bill, so banks normally accept it for payment. If the paper bill keeps missing your home, report non-delivery through the complaint channels below. The HESCO website also links to the HESCO Light consumer app made by PITC for bill details and complaints.
How to pay your HESCO bill
- Bank app or internet banking: open bill payment, choose electricity, select HESCO and enter the 14-digit reference number.
- Easypaisa or JazzCash: go to Bill Payment, then Electricity, pick HESCO and enter the reference number. Confirm with your PIN.
- Bank branch: take the printed duplicate bill to any bank that collects electricity bills and keep the stamped receipt.
Before you confirm, match the consumer name and amount with your bill. Payments can take a few days to show online, so keep the receipt until the next bill shows the amount as paid. Our Easypaisa vs JazzCash comparison explains the two wallets in detail.
HESCO helpline and complaints
- Call 118: the PITC contact centre for power companies, used for supply faults and billing complaints.
- SMS 8118: the complaint SMS number listed with 118 on the official complaint system.
- Online: the Customer Complaint Management System at ccms.pitc.com.pk, linked from the Register Complaint page on hesco.gov.pk. You can also email [email protected].
- In person: your sub-division office (SDO) or the customer services officer at your division.
- HESCO head office: 022-9260161, WAPDA Complex, Hussainabad, Hyderabad.
If your complaint is not settled, the HESCO complaint page also links to the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit (Pakistan Citizen Portal). No official channel will ask for your bank PIN or one-time code, so ignore such requests.
How to read your HESCO bill
- Units consumed: the present meter reading minus the previous reading.
- Tariff: homes are billed under the residential tariff. Rates rise in slabs, so a few extra units near a slab limit can raise the whole bill.
- FPA and quarterly adjustment: fuel and cost adjustments approved by NEPRA, which can raise or lower the bill.
- Taxes and duties: GST, electricity duty and other charges are listed separately.
- Due date and late amount: the bill shows the amount payable within the due date and a higher amount payable after it.
The current slab rates are explained in our electricity bill check guide. For official tariff notifications, check the NEPRA website.
HESCO bill calculator
Use this calculator to estimate your units and bill from meter readings or the appliances you run.
Electricity bill estimator
Units not known yet? Add each appliance you run:
Estimate only. It uses the base residential tariff notified in February 2026 (S.R.O. 279(I)/2026) and 18% sales tax. Fuel price adjustment, quarterly adjustment, surcharges, electricity duty and income tax change from month to month and are not included, so your real bill will be different. Always go by the bill issued by your company.
The result is only an estimate, because fuel adjustments, taxes and other charges change from month to month. Your official bill on the PITC page is the final amount.
Common problems and fixes
- No record found: you may have typed spaces or the letter at the end, or the number belongs to another company such as SEPCO.
- Old month showing: bills are uploaded in batches. Wait a few days and search again.
- Wrong meter reading: take a clear photo of your meter, compare it with the present reading on the bill and visit your sub-division office for a correction before the due date.
- Page not loading: the PITC site gets busy near due dates. Try again later or use the PITC portal home page to select HESCO.
- Payment not showing: allow a few working days, then complain on 118 with your receipt number.
