WASA Bill Online: Check Lahore, Karachi and Other Water Bills

You can check a WASA bill online in Lahore by entering your account number on WASA Lahore’s official duplicate bill page, linked from wasa.punjab.gov.pk. In Karachi, water bills come from the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC), and you get them on kwsc.gos.pk by entering your consumer number under Get Your Bill.

Each city has its own water agency, so the right page depends on where you live. This guide covers the two biggest online systems in detail, explains what to do in other cities, and lists the official helplines. PK Portals is an independent information site and is not linked to any WASA, KW&SC or the Government of Pakistan.

What is WASA?

WASA stands for Water and Sanitation Agency. In Punjab, the Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering Department lists five WASAs, in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan and Gujranwala. Each works under its city’s development authority and handles water supply, sewerage, drainage, and the billing and collection of water and sewerage charges.

Karachi does not have a WASA. Its water and sewerage services are run by KW&SC, formerly the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, which issues its own bills.

WASA bill check online in Lahore

  1. Open wasa.punjab.gov.pk and click Duplicate Bill, or go straight to the bill page at cms.wasalhr.pk.
  2. Enter the account number printed on your WASA bill.
  3. Press Search to see your bill.
  4. Print the bill or save it as a PDF from your browser’s Print menu.

The online duplicate bill system was built for WASA Lahore by the Punjab Information Technology Board. PITB says it lets consumers download a duplicate bill with their account number instead of visiting a zonal office, and that zonal offices upload new bills every month.

New water connection in Lahore

If you do not have a WASA account yet, you first need a connection. WASA Lahore takes applications online at cms.wasalhr.pk/NewConnection/Register, and its website lists these documents:

  • Copy of CNIC
  • Copy of the sale deed or other proof of ownership
  • Any utility bill for the property
  • A neighbour’s WASA bill (optional)

The site lists domestic, commercial and construction connections as metered, along with a separate charitable category. Once the connection is installed, your first bill will carry the account number you use for every online check after that.

Name change, meter faults and part payment in Lahore

  • Change of name: submit an attested copy of the sale deed in your favour, an attested CNIC copy and a copy of the last paid bill. Joint owners must add affidavits and CNIC copies.
  • Change of category: send a written application to the Deputy Director Revenue of your area.
  • Faulty meter: WASA says the bill is then based on your average use over the previous six months. To repair or replace the meter, apply in writing to the Revenue Office with a paid meter testing challan.
  • Part payment: accepted only on a revised assessment, after the owner appeals to the Revenue Office.

Karachi water bill: KW&SC online bill

  1. Open kwsc.gos.pk.
  2. Click Get Your Bill at the top of the home page.
  3. Enter your Consumer Number or ID from an old water bill.
  4. Click Get Bill to view and download your water and sewerage bill.

The same home page has buttons for E-Complaint, Track Complaint, New Connection and online tanker booking for areas without piped supply. KW&SC’s helpline is 1334, its email is [email protected] and its head office is at 9th Mile Karsaz, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Karachi. The website also points to a KW&SC Unified App. For electricity in Karachi, see our KE duplicate bill guide.

Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan and Gujranwala water bills

These cities each have their own WASA, and each prints its own bill. When we checked in October 2026, the website links listed for them on the Punjab HUD and PHE Department page did not open, so we could not confirm a working online duplicate bill page for any of the four.

  • Use the account or consumer number on your last bill when you contact your WASA.
  • Ask the WASA billing or revenue office in your city for a duplicate copy.
  • Check your bill for the banks where it can be paid and the complaint number.
  • Avoid unofficial websites that ask for your CNIC or mobile number just to show a water bill.

Understanding your water bill

Your water bill carries a few details worth checking every month. Look for your account or consumer number, the billing period, water and sewerage charges, any arrears, the due date and any amount shown for late payment.

Charges depend on the type of connection. WASA Lahore publishes separate tariffs for domestic, commercial, industrial and charitable connections on its website, so check that the category printed on your bill matches your property.

Common problems and fixes

  • Bill not found: check that you entered the account or consumer number exactly as printed, without spaces.
  • Old bill showing: new bills are uploaded by the agency each month. Try again after a few days.
  • Wrong category or high arrears: visit the WASA or KW&SC billing office with your bill, CNIC and proof of payment.
  • Water or sewerage complaint: call 1334 in Lahore or Karachi, or use the online complaint option on the official website.
